Your discussion of Greed and Broken Blossoms has for me brightened a dull rainy summer's day. Greed hasn't yet been released on DVD, and out-of-stock tape copies are selling for $90 apiece on Amazon.com. I'm just glad I still have my tape copy from the ONE TIME it was aired on Turner Classic Movies. It is incredible. Absolutely incredible.

Hollywood should be giving away these 80 year old films (making available for free dpwnload). Imagine if a similar GREEDY situation applied in the Book industry..We would NOT be able to read Fitzgerald or Hemingway, etc, etc, etc. My continuing gripe. I cannot even get a dvd of the GREAT 84 year old documentary "Nanook of the North"(usa copies not suitable for austalia and they are too expensive)
